My Favorite Actor - Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant is and will remain my favorite actor of all times. I simply adore his chocolate boy looks and amazing acting skills. I loves him in the movies - Notting Hill, Music and Lyrics,Love Actually, Four weddings and a funeral and especially in 9 Months.

Hugh played a loving, romantic boy friend in Nine Months and I think it was one his best performances till date. He is simply out of this world. He is a Brit actor and now around 50 yrs old - I would say, he hasn't lost his charms at all. If at all, he seems even more handsome now.

Sigh.. I can go on and on about this hunk. So, have you heard about the BOB Awards ? Well these are blog awards given out to - well, ofcourse the coolest jazziest blogs out there. So, what are you waiting for ? Please nominate me in the Best of the Best Awards.

Romeo Must Die

Cast
Jet Li as Han Sing
Aaliyah as Trish O'Day
Isaiah Washington as Mac
Russell Wong as Kai
DMX as Silk
Delroy Lindo as Isaak O'Day
My Rating - 7 / 10

Plot - This action packed super hit flick is based on a story of revenge and love. When Han Sing's brother is murdered , he has blood on his mind - His sole aim is to find his brother's killers and take revenge. During his man-hunt, he falls in love with pretty Trish who is the mafia bosses daughter. Brutal war between the Asian and African American gangs is a hurdle between their sweet romance. A series of kung fu fights follows which makes this flick a super cool & action packed.
My Opinion - Jet Li lives up to the audience expectations - with superb action sequels. Aaliyah is also great in the movie - has one of her songs in it as well. Overall, a good movie to watch . Quite enjoyable - Frankly, I loved it for the action bit -So, must watch for action lovers & Jet Li fans.

Sex and the city

Cast :
Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw
Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones
Kristin Davis as Charlotte York
Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes
Chris Noth as Mr. Big
Candice Bergen as Enid Frick
David Eigenberg as Steve Brady
My Rating : 7 / 10

Plot : This movie is based on the hit TV sitcom - Sex and the city. If you like and watch the show - You don't even have to wait till you fall in love with 4 fantastic characters in the movie - Carrie - A hip, stylist New York sex columnist , Samantha - Gorgeous and single (Can never stay in a relationship), Charlotte - Happily married & Miranda - Married.. but not happy. The story revolves around these 4 friends, their love lifes, the ups and downs and friendship. Carrie finally takes the big step and decides to marry her boy friend - Mr. Big. Mr. Big gets cold feet on their wedding day and jilts her. She is heartbroken and so is her friend Miranda who breaks up with husband Steve after he confesses he cheated on her and had a one night stand. A series of ups and downs, break ups and make-ups - call for a fun movie.
My Review : Like I said - If you like the series, you will love the movie. The performances are great and the clothes & shoes are even better. I loved how they showed the strength of love and friendship in the movie - To be honest I never expected this to be a good movie but I was in for a surprise . All characters were great and my fave scenes of each characters were : - Charlotte- I loved the scene when they were on vacation in Mexico and she pooped in her pants - all the girls burst out laughing. Samantha - When she was waiting for her boy friend on Valentine's day , all covered in home made Sushi and he gets late- she ends up having sushi she decorated her body with.Carrie - When Mr. Big jilts her at the church and she is furious at him and throws her bouquet on him - Three cheers for girl power.Miranda - When she finally has the courage to confront Carrie and tell her she said something which made Mr. Big doubt the whole marriage thing and could be the reason for his getting cold feet on D-day.Overall - A good movie. Try it !

Cast Away

Cast :
Tom Hanks as Chuck Noland
Paul Sanchez as Ramon
Lari White as Bettina Peterson
Leonid Citer as Fyodor
Helen Hunt as Kelly Frears

My Rating : 9 / 10

Plot : Chuck Noland is a Fed-Ex manager and a complete workaholic. His world revolves around the clock - He wants to be on time, every time . He is madly in love with his sweet heart Kelly. One fine day, when he boards a cargo going to Malaysia , the aircraft crashes and he is the only survivor. He lands on a deserted island with nothing but fed-ex packages and the island to help him survive. He stays on the island for 4 yrs with a picture of his girl Kelly to keep him going.

My Review : Truly extraordinary performance by Tom Hanks - Anyone who has seen this flick, will surely agree with me on this one. He is brilliant ! His performance itself made the movie amazing for me - Ofcourse the storyline , locales, cinematography - everything was great. The way Chuck Noland survives in the island, makes a boat and finally makes his way back home is indeed exceptional. Watch it - This one is not to be missed - I would highly recommend it to all movie lovers.

Meet The Fockers

Cast

Robert De Niro as Jack Byrnes
Dustin Hoffman as Bernie Focker
Ben Stiller as Greg Focker (Gaylord Greg Focker)
Barbra Streisand as Rozalin Focker
Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes
Teri Polo as Pam Byrnes
Owen Wilson as Kevin Rawley

My Rating - 7.5 / 10

Plot - This one is a super sequel to the equally entertaining movie - Meet the parents. In the first part, Greg and Pam meet each others folks and convince them about their wedding -A stream of hilarious incidents followed - This movie was just as funny, if not more. Finally, now that the Byrnes family (Pam's parents) has agreed for their wedding, they pay a visit to the Fockers (Greg's parents). In this hilarious comedy - an ex CIA officer, a sex therapist and many more interesting characters meet - You simply can't stop laughing . The two families are poles apart.

My Opinion - Extraordinary performances by Ben stiller, Robert de niro, Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand - I totally loved their work in this one. They were all great in comic roles (which was a surprise for me - Especially to see Dustin Hoffman in one) and overall the movie makes for a great watch with lots of laughs throughout. The irony of the name Fockers , is the best part about the movie. You can't stop giggling every time Ben stiller says his name. Thumbs up for Meet The Fockers.

50 first dates

Cast
Adam SandlerDrew BarrymoreRob SchneiderSean AstinLusia StrusDan AykroydAmy Hill

My Rating - 7 / 10

Plot - The movie revolves around a girl named Lucy (Played by the pretty Drew Barrymore) who suffers from short term memory loss. Now one day Henry (Played by Adam Sandler) meets Lucy and instantly falls in love with her. When he discovers hers illness, he doesn't give up still... He romances her every single day. So for Lucy every day , it is like they are meeting for the very first time - she doesn't remember a thing. So even though it is hard for Henry ,the movie clearly shows the strength of love :)

My opinion - The movie is adorable. it is unique and nice in its own sweet lovely dovely fashion. A romantic movie full of great performances and an admirable plot. Go for it, guys !

Kung Fu Panda

Cast : Voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan

Imdb rating : 7.9

My rating : 8

Review :An adorable flick about a chubby, clumsy panda who dreams of Kung-Fu warriors and idolizes them. A laugh riot about his journey to becoming one himself – How he is chosen to be the great dragon warrior and how he learns the art (Well..almost). Thumps up to Kung Fu Panda from my side – Great job on voices of Po (Jack Black), Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), Tigress (Angelina Jolie) and Viper (Lucy Liu). A must watch for all you animation freaks out there.
